ABOUT OUR FOOD.
Cloud Street Cafe and Restaurant, kodaikanal, was established in 2007.
We wanted to start a cafe, a sort of place we like to go and to be, with really good food, cooked from the heart.
In 2009 we were inspired to build a wood-oven and haven't looked back!
We have small, family kitchens, that suits our small, family place. and like to use the best quality ingredients available.
We keep our menu fairly limited, to enable us to manage putting out the best food we can.
Nearly everything is homemade* where we can avoid the use of artifical colours and flavours.
this does mean, that when it's busy, we sometimes need time between service to re-stock the items.
Occasionally something does run out but generally, we like to have everything available. That is how we and our guests like it.
(Some items are only subject to availability/timings)
* items like tomato ketchup and mustard sauce are not home made, neither is the spagetthi or penne pastas.
Please Note,
When we have a full staff and are not madly busy, items can come out fast, other times when very busy and/or short of staff, it may take a little longer...
Ours is more of a slowish-food place and delivering quality is important to us. but knowing what it's like waiting for food,
we always try to deliver as quickly as possible. we will let you know before you order, if a long wait is likely (more than 30 mins).
We always appreciate your patience and understanding.
A note about our prices: we like to use really good ingredients, some of these are costly, like expensive cheeses
and double cream, as well as imported products like olive oil, bacon, sausages and ham... Quality costs!
We also need to invest in wood for our oven and this also bumps up the price.... not to mention the general ambiance and the things about our place that makes it comfy and that little bit special...

Our dishes are all adapted or devised by the family so may be a little different from what you expect.
We don't claim to offer authentic, regional dishes but take certain dishes and make them our own...
so, a dish may be like in name, but not in nature...
